Rug Cleaning in Bluff Park
Collection and delivery in Bluff Park are included. We take the rug back to the workshop, wash it properly, and bring it home.
What Bluff Park is built from
Houses strung along the crest of Shades Mountain in Hoover, from 1950s and 1960s ranches to substantial later builds, many of them oriented to the view with large west-facing glass and decks stepping down the brow.
Long-settled households and families who came for the ridge and the schools. Rooms are planned around the view, which means the best rug in the house is usually the one sitting in the most light.
The Bluff Park problem
Light is the whole story on the brow. Afternoon sun through west-facing glass is relentless and completely one-directional, and it fades the two dyes that matter most in an old rug faster than anything else in the room — madder red goes first, then indigo blue, and the field ends up two different colours with the line of a sofa arm across it. Unlike soil, this is not reversible by cleaning; it is a dye-correction job at best. Rotating a rug a hundred and eighty degrees a couple of times a year costs nothing and keeps the fading even instead of leaving a bleached band. The exposure works the other way too: the ridge takes the weather first, and a rug near a door or a window that has been letting wind-driven rain past will show it in the foundation along that edge long before it shows in the pile.
If that sounds like your rug, send the form and describe what you are seeing. We will tell you whether it needs the full treatment or not.
